You can help YIA stand strong for generations to come.
YIA’s home at 672 Broad Street has been a beacon for youth leadership since our youth purchased the building in 2002, but the building is in need of critical repairs and renovations.
Youth In Action empowers young people to lead, create change, and build skills for life. For nearly 30 years, we’ve supported youth to step into leadership, advocate for their communities, and take paid roles that prepare them for college, careers, and civic life.
Campaign Objectives
- Provide every participant a safe, inspiring space that affirms their value.
- Build long-term infrastructure to ensure consistent access for all youth.
- Raise $2,000,000 for facility expansion, program development, and operational sustainability.
- Ensure $500,000 of our goal goes towards sustainability for building maintenance and program growth

Our Approach

Challenge
Many youth in our community lack safe, inspiring spaces where they feel valued and capable.
Current facilities and programs cannot meet growing demand for meaningful experiences.
Without investment, youth miss opportunities to build confidence, skills, and connection.
Opportunity
Expand YIA’s spaces and resources to create environments where every young person feels they belong and deserve to thrive.
Strengthen program offerings for skill-building, empowerment, and joy.
Build long-term infrastructure to ensure consistent access for all youth.
Impact
Capacity to facilitate community connection, inviting people in to engage, learn about and witness intergenerational leadership in action.
Generate earned income by offering spaces for rent to host retreats, workshops, and shared office space.
Fueling youth by having space to make snacks and meals, while creating space for rest and connection, so youth come prepared and focused to participate.
YIA’s house continues to be a landmark and beacon for generations of young leaders to uplift their community..
