Makeba Hardy-Thomas is a Rhode Island native, born and raised on the South side of Providence, RI. As a youth, Makeba was a child in social services. She attended several of the inner city schools including Fox Point Elementary, Nathan Bishop Middle and Central High School. In 2012, she earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Johnson and Wales University and pursing a Master’s of Human Resource Management at JWU, class of 2021. In 2007, Makeba joined Bank of America as the Vice President, Financial Center Manager and is currently managing the Kennedy Plaza Financial Center in downtown Providence. She has worked diligently since 2003 with a commited focus of providing financial guidance, long term savings and financial literacy to the community. Makeba will soon transition to Vice President, Small Business Banker for Bank of America to continue her work with customers in the small business segment in Rhode Island. In January, 2019, she joined the board of Youth In Action as treasurer. Makeba is wholly committed to the vision of YIA and looks forward to continuing her partnership by providing support such as financial literacy to the youth of Youth in Action.
